Ages are calculated as of January 26, 2027. Children, Junior A and Junior B groups are also judged as separate groups in the final round.
Preliminary
Final
Born after January 26, 1995, under 32 years of age; open to all nationalities, ethnicities and genders.
Online Preliminary
One technically demanding etude (Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Scriabin, Debussy) + one piece of choice (any style)
Deadline: November 30, 2026 · Advancement: max 40 to main competition
In-person Preliminary
One technically demanding etude (composer scope as above) + one piece of choice (may repeat the online preliminary)
Advancement: max 15 to semifinal
Semifinal
Self-selected program (no repeats), must include at least one Russian composer’s work ≥ 8 min
Advancement: max 6 to final
Final
Chamber music with professional musicians provided by the organizing committee. Choose one of:
a. Arensky: Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, Op. 32
b. Mendelssohn: Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, Op. 49
- The order of performance may be determined by the contestant, but must be identical to the repertoire list submitted at registration.
- The jury reserves the right to stop a performance that exceeds the time limit; this will not affect the final scoring.
- All works must be performed from memory; sheet music is permitted only in the Artist Division chamber music final.
- Except where marked Da Capo al Fine, all repeats should be omitted.
Recording
- Videos must be recorded in landscape orientation with a clear picture.
- One continuous take, filmed entirely indoors with a fixed camera position; audio and video recorded synchronously; no post-production editing, color grading, or added sound effects.
- Brief pauses between works are allowed, but the performer must not leave the camera frame during pauses.
- No other persons may appear in the frame, nor any logos or text unrelated to the performance.
- The performer’s face, hands, and pedaling must be clearly visible for the jury’s complete observation.
- Video resolution must be at least 1920×1080.
Performance & Submission
- All works must be performed from memory; sheet music is permitted only in the chamber music final.
- The program performed in the video must fully comply with the repertoire requirements for the relevant division and round.
- All works must be combined into one complete video file; separate uploads by work are not permitted.
- Video files must be named “contestant’s name + division”.
- Regular files may be sent directly to lyd@lydart.cn; for files larger than 500MB, upload the video to Baidu Netdisk and submit a permanent share link without an extraction code.
- Videos must be submitted within the specified deadline; late submissions will not be accepted.
- Dress suggestion: neat attire, or formal clothing suitable for a stage performance.
